MARK L HILL OWEN was born on 20 Jan 1819 in Buxton, Maine, the son of
John and Ruth (Hill) Owen. He died in his native town on 25 June 1901 at
age 82 yrs,5 mos,6 das [ME Death Rec] and is buried in Highland Cemetery
[YCCI, p390].
Mark was married first to ABBA L, who died on 26 Apr 1849 at age 28 years [grave]. He secondly married, in 1850 [intents filed 13 Apr, cert iss 28 Apr - Buxton VR], MATILDA O HARMON, the daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Elwell) Harmon of Buxton. She was born on 8 Sept 1826 and died on 4 July 1910 at age 83 yrs,9 mos,26 das, and is buried with husband in Highland Cemetery.
Mark was a farmer of Buxton his entire life. With his brothers Elijah and Melville, also farmers in Buxton, he had volunteered his services in the 27th Maine.
