The 27th Maine Volunteers
Soldiers Index
The 949 men assigned to the regiment, including those who resigned, deserted, or died during their service. Unless noted in their bio, the soldiers served a full term of service, which was from their muster in date of 30 Sept, 1862 (the 19th for officers) to their mustering out on 17 July, 1863. Those few other men enlisting in early October to complement the regiment's numbers are also noted on the individual's page.

On the appropriate index pages, those names
underlined indicate a link to an individual soldier's page. Those men who volunteered to remain in Washington beyond their enlistment will have "MoH" marked on their page.
