The 27th Maine Volunteers
(c) 2010 www.the27thMaine.com
To aid in the search for your Twenty-Seventh Maine ancestor, I have made up
individual town pages with a roll of those soldiers whose residence was listed for
that particular place. It must be remembered that in some cases, when a town's own
quota of volunteers was filled, it's citizen was "given" to another town in order to
complete their required levy. Residents from outside of York County also answered
the call to arms, and were attributed to these towns.
