(MOSES) CHASE ANDREWS was born in Saco, Maine [Descriptive Roll;Passport App of son Chase Jr; US Army Enlistment] circa 1843, likely the son of James and Mariah Andrews. He died in Flushing, New York on 3 Mar 1914 [NY Deaths; Passport App of son Chase].

He married in Washington, DC on 18 Aug 1874 [DC Marr 1830-1921], to MARIA COYLE SPEER. She was born ca Nov 1855 [1900 census] in Washington, DC [census recs], and died some time after the 1920 census.



Chase and Maria had six children [1900-10 censuses]:
i. ALEXANDER SPEER ANDREWS, b. 9 Aug 1875 in Wash, DC. 1895 graduate of Princeton, A.B. Attende Columbia Law School 1895-98, and practiced law in New York in 1898 ["The Class of 1895 Princeton Univ, 20th Year Record"]. 1920 census shows him a lawyer, liv in Queens, NY.

ii. CHARLES B ANDREWS, b. June 1877 [1900 census]

iii. CHASE ANDREWS Jr, b. 23 Mar 1881 in DC; died Dec 1925; had wife CATHERINE, b. Louisville, KY [Passport App,1921]

iv. LESLIE ADAIR ANDREWS, b. 27 Aug 1895 in DC; d. Sept 1968 [SSDI]. Served in WWI, 4/11/18-5/31/19.

v. MARION SPEER ANDREWS, b. July 1887

vi. JOHN  CHISHOLM ANDREWS, b. Mar 1892 [1900 census].
