ELIJAH F BOSTON was born in South Berwick, Maine on 8 Oct 1843, the son of Joseph and Alice (Farnham) Boston [Death Rec]. He died in South Berwick on 24 July 1917, aged 73 yrs, 9 mos,16 das, and is buried in the family lot on Earls Road in South Berwick [YCCI, pg 2089]. His burial place is marked with a veteran stone, ordered by his son Almon in 1940 [US Headstone App's 1925-1963].
He was married in Portsmouth, NH on 6 Mar 1868 [NH VR] to MERCY A PLAISTED, the daughter of Joseph and Hannah (Moulton) Plaisted. She was born in York, Maine on 16 Aug 1848 [gravestone] and died on 24 Nov 1915 in South Berwick at age 67 yrs, 3 mos, 8 das [ME VR]. She is buried with her husband [YCCI, pg 2089].
Elijah was a farmer and lived in South Berwick on a farm off of Emery's Bridge Road, on a lane now called Earls Road. Early town records show the surname as "Baston". His older brother Isaiah also served in the Civil War, joining the 30th Maine Infantry (8/29/1864-6/9/1865). He is buried in same cemetery as his brother.
Elijah and Mercy had six children, all born in South Berwick:
I. CARRIE BELLE BOSTON, born ca 1868 [age 12 in 1880]. She died in New Orleans, LA on 10 Mar 1951 while visiting for the winter. She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Eliot [Obit]. She married first, on 15 Apr 1889 in South Berwick, to ERVIN E HASTY, also of South Berwick [VR of Berwick, So Ber, and No Ber, pg 484]. He was born ca Apr 1865, and died prior to the 1930 census. She secondly married GEORGE WOODBURY NOYES on 15 Dec 1938 [ME VR]. She lived on Beech Road in Eliot, where both husbands were occupied as farmers [Eliot St Dir, 1923-28]. With Ervin, she had the following children:

II. LAFAYETTE BOSTON was born 25 Dec 1872 [ME VR; gravestone] and died on 12 Aug 1947 [grave]. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, South Berwick [YCCI, pg 2009]. He married ca Dec 1891 [intents filed 19 Dec, cert iss 24 Dec - Vr of Berwicks, pg 418] to EDITH CARRIE HOOPER of South Berwick. She was born 9 Nov 1875 and died on 8 Mar 1948 [YCCI, pg 2009]. She is buried with husband at Woodlawn Cemetery. Lafayette was a farm laborer in 1900, and farmer in 1910. They had at least the following children, all born in South Berwick:

In 1918, he was in South Berwick, a canning cook for the Portland Packing Co. He moved to Kittery by 1920, and lived with Uncle Almon while working at the shipyard.

III. OLIVER A BOSTON was born on 17 Apr 1878. He died in Wells on 10 Feb 1911 in a logging accident [ME VR]. He was buried with his parents in the family plot. He was married to MARY C NASON, the daughter of John Frank and Emily (Jellison) Nason, on 25 Mar 1902 in South Berwick [ME VR]. She was born in South Berwick on 19 Sept 1879 [YCCI, pg 2092] and died 30 Oct 1911 in South Berwick from pneumonia [ME VR]. She was buried in the Jellison family plot in South Berwick. They had three children:

IV. ALMON CLEVELAND BOSTON was born 27 Sept 1884 [WWII Draft Reg Card]. He died on 12 May 1956 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, South Berwick [YCCI, pg 2006]. He married FLORENCE P HOOPER on 29 Sept 1906 [ME Marr]. She was born 15 Feb 1890, dau of William and Sarah (Littlefield) Hooper and died on 6 Nov 1962 [YCCI, pg 2006]. He was a farmer in 1910 South Berwick, but moved to Kittery by 1920 to work at the navy yard. He had served during World War I, being in the National Guard at time of signups, and served overseas with the 101st Engineers. He was discharged in Apr 1919 following the ending of the war. In 1942, he was living in Farmington, Strafford, NH, listed as a disabled veteran.

V. CLARENCE PLAISTED BOSTON was born 19 May 1887 [obit; WWI Draft Reg Card]. He died 20 Mar 1955 in Kittery Point [Portsmouth Herald, 3/21/1955]. His wife was MAUD E EMERY, whom he married on 30 Oct 1913 in Portsmouth, NH [NH VR]. She was born ca 1888 [age 32 in 1920], the daughter of Oren and Emma (Brooks) Emery. They were living in North Hampton, NH by June 1917, where he worked as a laborer for David Lamprey. According to the draft card that Clarence filled out, he had two children at the time. He was also disabled due to a missing leg. By 1920, they had moved to Eliot, ME, and were in Kittery by 1930. He retired from the shipyard in 1947, having worked there for 27 years as a machine operator in the electrical manufacturing shop [obit]. Maud had been previously married to a MacKenzie and had two children. Between her and Clarence, only one child is seen in census records:
1. Oliver Clarence Boston, b. 15 Sept 1914 in South Berwick [ME VR]. He died 13 July 1934 at Portsmouth Hospital, due to injuries from an auto accident [NH VR]. He was buried in Orchard Grove Cemetery, Kittery, Maine. He was a gas station attendant at the Kittery Tire Co.
VI. ALICE L BOSTON, born 5 Feb 1892 [grave]. She died on 9 Aug 1950 and was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, South Berwick [YCCI, pg 1992]. She was married on 20 Mar 1911 in South Berwick [ME VR] to PHILIP SHERIDAN ALLEN. He was the son of Orrin P and Elsie J (Boston) Allen [note: Elsie was dau of the other Elijah Boston in Co B], born in South Berwick on 30 Sept 1887 [grave; WWI Draft Reg Card]. He died on 25 July 1963 and is buried in Woodlawn Cem [YCCI, pg 1992]. They lived in North Berwick, where he was a farmer. They had two children [1920-1930 censuses]:
