Cyrus was married first to MARY E FOSS of Limerick [intents filed 17 Sept 1863 in Limington; cert issued 22 Sept]. She was born abt 1850 in Limerick, and died prior to 1900. Formerly a farmer, he became a Free-Will Baptist minister in the 1870's. Living in Limerick, he was a pastor of the Cornish, Maine church from 1876-78 [History of York County, Me, pg 345; Freewill Baptist Register 1876, pg 22], and was minister in Hollis by 1880 [Freewill Bapt. Reg 1880, pg 23]. He moved to Parsonsfield by the 1900 census, and then returned to Cornish by 1920, the census still listing him as a gospel minister.
The Sanford Tribune and Advocate, dated May 8th 1924 (E. Parsonsfield news) said only this:
"Elder Brown passed away last Sunday after a long illness".
