Thatcher W Burnham

THATCHER W BURNHAM was born in Parsonsfield, Maine on 29 Mar 1837 [History of Parsonsfield, pg 368], the son of John and Lydia (Burbank) Burnham. He died there on 13 July 1921, aged 84 yrs, from "diabetic gangrene of both feet" [ME death rec]. He was buried in the family cemetery in South Parsonsfield [YCCI, pg 1380].

He was married, on 6 Dec 1863 [Hist of P-Field, pg 368], to DEBORAH RANDALL HAYES. She was born in Limerick, Maine, on 3 Jan 1836, the daughter of Levi and Lydia (Philpot) Hayes. She died on 2 Apr 1923 [Pension Payment Card], and is buried with her husband in the family plot.  

Thatcher was a farmer, and lived his life in Parsonsfield. The 1870 Agriculture census shows him owning 110 acres of improved land in Parsonsfield, with a dozen sheep and several each of horses, cows and oxen. This farm formerly belonged to his father John, and grandfather Paul before him [History of Parsonsfield, pg 368]

Thatcher and Deborah had one child, a daughter:
i. FANNIE STIMSON BURNHAM, born in Parsonsfield, ME on 5 Jan 1865 [ME vr]; died 1 May 1868, aged 3 yrs, 4 mos [gravestone].
