FRANCIS JASON COUSINS was born in Saco, Maine on 3 Oct 1843, the son of Ebenezer and Olive J (Patterson) Cousins. He died in Old Orchard, ME on 11 May 1920 at age 76 yrs, 7 mos, 9 das [ME vr]. He is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.

He married about 1866 [based on data on 1910 census and birth of son ca 1867] to PHEBE ADELAIDE [name spelled various ways in records], maiden name not yet learned, who was born perhaps abt Dec 1848 [1900 census] and died in 1935 [gravestone]. I did not find her death record in ME vr, not sure if she remarried or listed under a different spelling of surname.

Following his service with the 27th Maine, he reenlisted as Jason Cousins of Saco, age 20, into Co H of the 30th Maine on 6 Jan, 1864. He was transferred into Co F on the 1st of Jan, and was mustered out on 20 Aug 1865 in Savannah, GA. During 1865, he had been promoted to Full Corporal.

After the war, he spent some time as a fish merchant in Enfield, CT, but soon after returned to Saco, where he was a house carpenter for many years. He lived on Old Orchard Rd, part of ward-3 which became Old Orchard in the 1883. He also lived for a time in Hollis, ME

Francis and Phebe A had 6 children [1900 census numbers]:

i. MARBLE WEBSTER COUSINS, born ca Dec 1866 [1900 census], had a wife HELEN ELLEN PILLSBURY, born ca Oct 1863, and lived in Sanford, ME [1900+1910 censuses] with two children. He was a mill worker. By the 1920 census, they were living in Providence, RI.
   1. Alfreda or Elfreda F Cousins, b. 10 Mar 1892 in Sanford, Maine [ME VR]
   2. Montrose Webster Cousins, b. 27 Jan 1894 Old Orchard, Maine [ME VR]

ii. CLARENCE COUSINS, born July 1869 [1870,1900 census - g.s. has 1870] and died in 1939 [g.s.]; married about 1900 to FLORENCE EMMA CUNNINGHAM, born July, 1873 or '74, died in 1964 [gs]. She was from Canada, immigrating here in 1895. He was for a barber in Boston and in Hollis, but moved back to Old Orchard by 1920 and worked with cotton machinery. In 1910+1920 census, they had 2 daughters living with them:
   1. Florence M Cousins (age 18 in 1920)
   2. Charlotte A Cousins (age 15 in 1920)

iii. OLA N COUSINS, was born ca 1872 [ age 8 in 1880 census], her whereabouts after this not traced.

iv. CHARLES H COUSINS, was born in 1874 and died in 1883. Buried with parents in Laurel Hill Cem.

v. ALCIE COUSINS, born 1880 and died 1882. Buried with parents. [not on 1880 census, so probably born after June 1st]

vi. ARCHIE EBEN COUSINS, born in 1882 (Sept, 1886 according to 1900 census); died in 1923. Buried in family plot.
