John G Emmons

JOHN GUNNISON EMMONS was born on 7 April 1840 [YCCI, p1253] in Lyman, Maine [Descriptive Roll], the son of Joseph and Lucinda (Emmons) Emmons. He died on 30 Jan 1925 in West Somerville, MA [NARA pension card], and is buried with parents in family plot in Lyman [YCCI, p1253].

He never married, and lived with his parents until their deaths in the late 1880-90's. He was a farmer his whole life in Lyman, until moving between 1912-1914 to Somerville, Massachusetts.

Lucinda Emmons, born 12 Oct 1809 (based on age at death), died 16 Mar 1896 in Lyman, age 86 yrs, 5 mos, 4 das. Daughter of Benjamin and Betsy Emmons [ME VR]
Their marriage intents were filed 24 Sept 1831, w/ cert issued on 22 Oct, 1831 [NEHGR v97 p17]. They are buried, along with their son John, in small family plot on "Old North Berwick Rd" [YCCI pg 1253].
