ISAAC MILTON FOYE, the son of William L and Hannah G (Williams) Foye, was born in Kittery, March 1841 [1900 census; death rec]. He died at age 66 yrs, 8 mos on 22 Nov 1907 in Middleboro, Plymouth, MA from cirrhosis of the liver, and was buried three days later in the town's Nemasket (Hill) Cemetery [MA vr v70 p222].
He married in Middleboro on 31 Oct 1869 to SYLVIA EMMA SNOW [MA vr v218 p389]. She was born in Middleboro in 1850, the daughter of Venus and Olive (Willis) Snow. She is seen in the Middleboro directories up to 1913, not known her whereabouts following this date. She more commonly used her middle name in records.
Through his teen years, Isaac was a resident of Kittery, Maine [1850-1860 censuses], but removed to North Bridgewater, MA by the time of his 1869 marriage. Though he briefly took up carpentry in 1870 Braintree, MA [census], he was known as a (vocal) music teacher of Middleboro, and taught up until his death.
Three children were born to Isaac and Sylvia:
I. LILLIE S FOYE, born 9 Jan 1873 in Middleboro [MA vr v251 p442]. She died on 14 Aug 1873 from cholera [MA vr v257 p377 - this rec erroneously lists age at death as 7 yrs, 4 das, instead of 7 mos].
II. FRED MILTON FOYE, born 7 May 1874 in Middleboro [MA vr v260 p359]. In 1900, he lived in Malden [census], and Middleboro street directories up to 1913 list him as boarding with his mother, his occupation a Boston bookkeeper. By 1914, he was living in Boston. He joined the Sons of Union Veterans that year (Camp #46), a resident of Boston, and was living in the city when he filled out the draft registration card in Sept, 1918. His whereabouts following this date not yet known.
III. ARTHUR BURR FOYE, born in Middleboro 23 Aug 1881 [MA vr v323 p353]. He died there on 29 Sept 1882 from a teething inflamation [MA vr v338 p322].
