WILLIAM H HOOPER was born in South Berwick on 17 Mar 1840, the son of Jacob and Sabra (Woodward) Hooper [death rec]. He died on 19 Jan 1914 in South Berwick, aged 73 yrs, 10 mos, 2 das, and was buried in his family plot in South Berwick, on Emery's Bridge Rd [YCCI, 2091].

He married about 8 Sept 1864 [Cert issued on this date, VR of Berw, So Berw, No Berw, pg 388; intents were filed on 3 Sept], to SARAH ELIZABETH (LITTLEFIELD) MELFORD. The daughter of John and Clarissa (Brooks) Littlefield, she was born 12 June 1846 in North Berwick, and died on 23 Oct 1918 in South Berwick, aged 72 yrs. She is buried in the Hooper family plot in South Berwick, with her husband [YCCI, pg 2091].
