EMERSON LITTLEFIELD, the son of Davis and Maria (Huston) Littlefield, was born in Kennebunk, Maine abt 15 June 1839 [based on age at death; 1900 census has June '39]. He died there on Christmas Day, 1905 from pneumonia, aged 66 yrs,6 mos,10 das [ME VR], and was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Kennebunk [YCCI, p795].

In March 1870 [census rec] he was married to LUCY A ROBERTS, the daughter of William and Lydia (Gordon) Roberts. She was born in Dayton, Maine on 7 Oct 1839, and died on 6 Jan 1899 in Kennebunk at age 59. She is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, West Kennebunk.

According to the 1870 Kennebunk census, Emerson was a teamster, and was a farmer by 1900. They did not have any children.

The Biddeford Weekly Journal printed the following on 29 Dec 1905 (pg 1):
   Emerson Littlefield, 66, died Monday afternoon from pneumonia, at West Kennebunk. He was a member of Co I, 27th Me Reg't. He was employed in Boston in his younger years, but has been a farmer the greater portion of his life. His wife dies six years ago. He leaves no children.
