William H Pray
Rank: Pvt Co: B Age: 21 Residence: North Berwick Birthplace: Berwick Occupation: farmer
Married/Single: S Height: 5' 7.5 Eyes: Bl Hair: Red Complexion: Lt

WILLIAM H PRAY was born in Berwick, Maine [Descriptive Roll] ca June 1842 (based on age at death), the son of Alexander and Sarah "Sally" (Lord) Pray. He died on 12 Apr 1867 [grave], aged 25 yrs, 10 mos, and is buried in the Applebee Cemetery, North Berwick [Find a Grave].

William was a shoemaker and a farmer, living in North Berwick when he enlisted during the Civil War. After his time with the 27th Maine, he reenlisted on 22 Mar 1865 and was mustered in on 1 April as a private in Company C, 1st Maine Infantry Battalion (his brother-in-law Nelson Harmon would also sign up with him). He served until 5 Apr 1866, his 1-year term of service ended. He filed for a pension that same year [App #119167], but the process was not completed prior to his death in the spring of '67.

I didn't find any evidence that he married.
